Have you ever wondered why the faculty parking lot on the north east corner of the GFHS campus is called The "Tennis Court Parking Lot"?
Well, it is called The Tennis Court Parking Lot because Great Fall High School actually used to play tennis there!

Since 1970, Great Falls High School has won five state tennis championships. Four of those five championships were during the era of the tennis courts at the school.

According to former tennis player and now coach Jan Dodds, The GFHS tennis courts were considered “The best courts in town” because they were very sheltered from the wind
Because there were only two courts at GFHS, the upperclassmen played at the school courts and the underclassmen played at Lions Park.

In the 1980’s the courts were turned into a parking lot for teachers because of the lack of parking around the school.

Ever since, GFHS tennis teams have used other locations for tennis practices and meets. Up until 2012, GFHS used the courts at CMR High School, Meadowlark Country Club, Lions Park, and the Montana courts.

The Hurd Courts were renovated for the 2012 season and are now home to the GFHS tennis teams.
